Review: Hancock (2008)

I don’t know why this movie gets the bad rap (heh) it does.

As a faux-comic book movie, its premise is no more or less silly than most actual comic book movies. It’s certainly more respectful to its subject matter than many comic book movies. It even bothers to locate its own mythology within older established mythologies. It’s definitely not perfect, but I’d happily re-watch a silly movie that actually attempts to earn its comedic and emotional beats over, say, “Guardians of the Galaxy” or any of the “Hulk” movies.
